Types of Essays

The word essay pertains to a range of written works, usually organized around a central theme, even though there are a number of different styles and sub-topics utilized to classify them. An essay can be, generally speaking, simply a composed work that supply the author’s opinion, but the exact definition is very obscure, encompassing people of a personal letter, a newspaper article, an article, a short story, pamphlet, and even a children’s novel. Essays have typically traditionally been grouped either as formal or casual.

A descriptive essay typically requires that the author has researched the subject in some detail, and that he or she has taken pains to make sure that what he or she has presented is true. Most descriptive essays take the form of short reports. They usually start with some background information and then offer a fundamental thesis statement–a statement which says what the essay’s most important focus is and why this is actually the focus of the report. Narrative essays are also a form of descriptive essay. A narrative essay will have a beginning introduction of sorts, detailing the personality and how he or she came to be the principal point of this essay. All of this can be loosely based on real events that happened during the course of the writing.

Meta-ethics essays are written to persuade readers to accept, either partially or completely, the conclusions mentioned in the introduction and throughout the entire essay. In essence, these essays argue against the perspectives expressed in the introduction. The arguments often take the kind of either human rights ecological security, or any other ethical position. The essay writer must effectively demonstrate the excellence of one view over another by demonstrating its superiority to other views introduced throughout the article.

Each one of these various types of essays have their very own special style.
